Jody Ambrose

Jody has been a Grand Prix-level dressage trainer and competitor for over 25 years, having earned the USDF Gold, Silver & Bronze medals. An early adopter of clicker training in her work with dogs, she was already integrating positive reinforcement techniques into her work with horses and humans when she discovered TAGTeach and earned advanced certification in 2007. That same year, she and her lifelong friend, zoo & marine mammal expert Megan Phillips, formed Train with Trust® Behavior Consultants out of a desire to share their combined knowledge of humane training and best animal management practices for all species. Their partnership has since evolved into full-time business, offering personalized behavior plans, workshops and educational resources. In her spare time Jody volunteers with service dog organizations as well as owner-trained teams, and has helped pioneer goal-directed animal assisted therapy programs for wounded veterans and “at-risk” teens. Articles have been published about her work in Practical Horseman and California Riding, and she has been featured as an animal expert on BBC Radio. Currently she serves on the Board of Directors for Equitopia, a 501C3 non-profit which promotes evidence-based education to advance the welfare of horses.
