Lyndsey Lewis

Alongside a lifetime of practical experience of showing, training, caring for, and riding horses, I have also been studying the science of learning and behavior change which I now incorporate into all my work and teaching. I believe that the clicker training or marker training approach to teaching, is the most effective, the most humane and the most enjoyable way to influence and change our animal’s behavior. My experience includes managing a training and breeding farm, giving private and group riding lessons and starting and training horses for trail, dressage and driving. My early years in New Zealand were focused on eventing but since moving to the United States, I have trained and shown through 4th level dressage. I am now semi-retired in Belfast, Maine with three horses, two sheep, one dog and a few barn rats. My current interest is in developing a lesson plan for incorporating positive reinforcement into the performance horse world.  Visit my website: http://www.teachyourhorse.com/index.html
