Megan Phillips

When Megan began her career as a zookeeper while still in her teens, positive reinforcement training was not yet the norm in exotic animal management. As a pioneer in the field, she conducted and co-published a study on crate training skittish African antelope for voluntary blood sampling. She went on to successfully train many species, including endangered Black Rhinos, Polar Bears, and African Wild Dogs. She then spent several years training Bottlenose Dolphins and mentoring other marine mammal trainers. During this time she also had the unique opportunity to work with the world-famous Budweiser Clydesdales. In 2007 she and her lifelong friend, domestic animal expert Jody Ambrose, formed Train with Trust® Behavior Consultants out of a desire to share their combined knowledge of humane training and best animal management practices for all species. Their partnership has since evolved into full-time business, offering personalized behavior solutions, workshops and educational resources. Megan achieved her dog training certification in 2007 and received her ACDBC credential from IAABC in 2013. She served as a Committee Chair for the Animal Behavior Management Alliance for 5 years. She continues to be active with several animal behavior groups and associations including ABMA, Pet Professionals Guild and IAABC . Learn more at: TrainwithTrust.com
